We offer four different block courses for students wanting to gain credits for Gateway and NCEA in Years 12 or 13. See below for more information on each block course including units completed.

The Explorer

Is New Zealand the greatest country in the world? A lot of our international visitors think so and your students will find out why OUR backyard is such an exciting destination for the rest of the world. Your students will learn to master the art of customer service, discover what the demands of the tourism roles are and how they fit into the future of this exciting industry. Explore the world and learn about other countries, cities, landmarks and so much more...

Students will be required to attend for 1 day per week for a 3 hour period.

European Extravaganza

Students credited with this unit standard will be able to locate European countires and key cities on a map; identify and describe attractions, activities, learn about events, air transport and related services avaliable to tourists including accommodation facilities.

Students will be required to attend the 5 days from 9am - 4pm, complete a student workbook to gain knowledge and be enrolled onto our online course so they can complete their assessment online. New Zealand School of Tourism will provide all the marking and correspondence with the student.

Amazing Asia

Students credited with this unit standard will be able to locate Asian countires and key cities on a map; identify and describe attractions, activities, learn about events, air transport and related services avaliable to tourists including accommodation facilities.

Students will be required to attend the 5 days from 9am - 4pm, complete a student workbook to gain knowledge and be enrolled onto our online course so they can complete their assessment online. NZ Our Own Back Yard

Students credited with this unit standard are able to: locate NZ tourist regions and destinations on a map, identify and describe attractions, activities and events in specific regions of New Zealand which includes transport, accommodation and provide travel information for visitors to specific regions of New Zealand.

Students will be required to attend the 5 days from 9am - 4pm, complete a student workbook to gain knowledge and be enrolled onto our online course so they can complete their assessment online. New Zealand School of Tourism will provide all the marking and correspondence with the student.
