New Zealand School of Tourism is part of UP Education, New Zealand’s leading independent provider of vocational training. We are New Zealand's largest private tertiary establishment that specialises in training programmes for the airline, travel and tourism industries. The New Zealand School of Tourism Ltd (trading as New Zealand School of Tourism) started as Travel Careers & Training in 1985 with one campus in Wellington. Several years later they opened a second campus in Auckland before purchasing Sir George Seymour College in 2006. This gave the company seven campuses and it has since grown to eight campuses throughout New Zealand.
In 2015 the two brands rebranded to become The New Zealand School of Tourism. They are a Category One provider having gained the highest outcome from NZQA with a Highly Confident in Educational Performance and Highly Confident in Self Assessment.
All courses are New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) approved and students are eligible to apply for Government Student Loans and Allowances.
Our Brand Story
We’re a big thinker, quick thinker, fast mover, first mover; an innovator, hungry, vibrant, vigorous, daring and grounded. This isn’t a list. It’s who we are and how we do things. We’re not so much a glass half full, but a cup that runneth over, with ideas, energy and goodwill. Students are our reason for being. They give as much to us as we give to them. We want to be a power for good and develop students who are totally primed for the job market. But we can’t do any of this by ourselves. The roles of parents and schools are vital. The industry is our ‘other half’. A partnership based on professional respect, mutual alignment and common goals. The senses are important to us. Common sense, a sense of community, a sense of purpose and a sense of destiny. We believe that fortune favours the brave. We believe that fun and formality are different sides of the same coin. We believe that the best teams have an unbreakable bond. And what does all this mean? We are the ultimate, educational entrepreneurs.
UP EducationIn a world where the rate of change gets faster with each new day, we equip the next generation with skills that will last a lifetime.
